About Us
Think. Reason. Question. Experiment. These are just a few of the skills and qualities that children will develop at Hopes & Dreams Childcare and Learning Center. Since our founding, we’ve focused on supporting kids during all transitions throughout childhood.
All activities are designed to adequately nurture the emotional and intellectual growth of our kids while in preschool and daycare. Through stimulating situations and hands-on learning opportunities, young children are free to develop into bright young minds.
We are proud to announce that our center is 4 Star rated through Step Up to Quality! We are an established
childcare and learning center in Austintown, Ohio. We opened in 2004 with a vision and passion to educate, love, and take the best care of children while they are away from home, and these still hold true today.

Our Center
Hopes & Dreams provides an educational play based environment for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years old. Our teachers plan developmentally appropriate activities based on the interests and needs of the children. All activities are also based on the Ohio Early Learning Content Standards to ensure that your children are meeting all of the important skills needed for development. We strive to help children learn and grow in a way that is fun to give the children a love for education, while learning very important lessons at the same time.
Research has shown that “By taking a closer look at children’s play, we see that it does more than stimulate physical, social-emotional, and creative development. Play is also the primary means by which children explore the world, investigate its properties, and build an understanding about how the world works. Through this play, children actively pose problems, explore solutions, and develop understandings of real world concepts of form and function. By comparing and contrasting information gained from each new experience to what they already know, they are actively constructing their knowledge of the way the world works.”
Curriculum
The teachers at Hopes & Dreams use the High Scope Curriculum to write weekly lesson plans for each classroom. High Scope is a research based curriculum that aligns with the Ohio Early Learning Content Standards.
“The HighScope Preschool Curriculum is based on the principles of active learning and support of a child's positive interactions with adults and peers. Longitudinal studies show that the HighScope Preschool Curriculum promotes children’s development and provides lasting benefits into adulthood.
Our Preschool Curriculum is a comprehensive model that addresses all areas of development through eight content areas and 58 key developmental indicators (KDIs) — the skills and behaviors at each stage of development that pave the way for school and adult success. Each KDI is connected to and reinforced by scaffolding strategies to support and gently extend children’s learning.

Assessment
The assessment we use at Hopes & Dreams is the Cor Advantage, which goes along with our curriculum.
